Inphinity Suite May 2023:
Reaching Inphinity faster and easier than ever before…
Hi all Qlikkies & Inphinities and welcome to the May 23 release of Inphinity Suite.
It’s been a fantastic year for us at Inphinity with new customers, partners and people joining us on our mission to ‘Transform mission critical processes with data’. The month of April, in particular, was an extra-special month with an excellent event at QlikWorld in Las Vegas where we were able to meet friends and colleagues again in person – can’t wait for QlikWorld 2024.
This release of Inphinity Suite brings a number of much requested and extremely powerful new features to the product, so lets dive right in…
INPHINITY FORMS
Search in dimensions and editable fields
Search now works in the same way as native Qlik objects. This means, that you can select values in the columns by dragging with the mouse, you can search using the magnifier glass icon on the column and wildcard expressions are also supported. This is extremely useful and will help users to find records in their Forms General tables.
New SSE Aggregation Functions for Inphinity Forms
Imagine that you want to enter numbers into your Forms table and see your associated KPI’s & charts update in real-time when you hit the Save button (no need to reload the app). . The new Forms SSE functions include Forms.Sum, Forms.Avg, Forms.Min, Forms.Max, Forms.Concat and many others.
SSE Support for Inphinity Forms on Qlik Cloud
We have also added SSE support for Inphinity Forms deployments on Qlik Cloud (check out the new wizard that makes SSE Connections easy as 1,2,3). This change lets you benefit from the simplifications and huge performance improvements that SSE connections can bring to your Inphinity Forms powered Qlik Sense apps.
Management and maintenance improvements for Forms Administrators
Obviously, we care enormously about building great new features that benefit Forms end users and developers. But we also appreciate that Forms Administrators play a vital role in making sure that the Forms back-end is well managed and maintained. With that in mind, the following updates are for all the Forms Administrators out there – enjoy !
Data size management for Inphinity Forms on Qlik Cloud
We all love that Inphinity Forms on Qlik Cloud keeps a full Audit Log of all user additions and changes over time. But if you’ve been using your Forms Instance for a long time, the Audit Log can become quite large. In this release, we have introduced a new tool into the Inphinity Forms SaaS settings console which lets you limit the number of versions of each record as well as limit the number of days that old records are kept. So now, if you want to keep only the last 30 days of updates, then everything older will be automatically deleted.
Import Forms XML Data files into Inphinity Forms SaaS
If you save your Forms data into an XML file, you now have the option to make manual changes directly to the XML file and then import the updated file into the Settings Console and replace the current live XML file (see image above). This new import capability will significantly simplify the transition from On-Premise versions of Forms to Qlik Cloud.
Access Log Management for Forms Administrators
We have introduced a new type of log file called the “Access.Log” which can be enabled by Forms Administrators. The Access Log provides information on the Qlik Sense Application, the Inphinity Forms, Sheets, users etc. The Access Logs can be loaded into Qlik Sense and help administrators understand which Forms exist in which Apps & Sheets and analysed for usage patterns.
Inphinity Forms installation / configuration improvements
We’ve listened to our Forms Admins and have now automated two configuration steps. The ‘Virtual Proxy’ configuration will be automatically loaded after every restart of the Forms Service. The ‘SSL Certificate’ will be automatically configured using the Thumbprint during Forms installation.
Updates to the Forms Admin Application
We’ve also made a few improvements to the Forms Admin App. These include, improved searching across the app and form instance changes being immediately applied after saving them with no need to restart the Forms Service.
INPHINITY FLOW
Access added to 150 Qlik Icons
In this release, we have added the ability for Flow developers to include the Icons from the Qlik Leonardo Icon Library into their Flow charts. There are over 150 icons to choose from and make it much easier to add meaning to your Flow diagrams.
